Nursing Care

Our Nursing Home in Aberdeen provides professional, specialist care for older people through a highly-trained and dedicated care team. We offer unwavering nursing support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We’re here to ensure that every resident entrusted to our nursing care receives the highest level of respect, compassion, and professionalism, not only for their peace of mind but also for their familys’.

At Deeside, we are proud to deliver exceptional nursing care while supporting each resident’s independence. We believe that every individual deserves a life that is both fulfilling and autonomous, set within a peaceful and nurturing environment that truly feels like home.

What is Nursing Care?

Residents who require continuous medical and personal care will receive Nursing Care. This type of specialist care is most appropriate for those who need intensive rehabilitative care, after suffering from an injury or illness. Individuals with physical disabilities and people who are recognised to have long-term issues with their health may also receive this type of care.

We offer en-suite bedrooms with profiling beds, nurse call systems and other specialised nursing equipment. Residents will also be able to add personal touches to their room to make it truly theirs. We are passionate about delivering high-quality nursing care and our teams are trained in care types, including respite, caring for people living with dementia and palliative care.

Nursing Care FAQs

The type of nursing care provided can vary depending on the needs of the person. At Deeside Care Home, our nursing team provides a range of different nursing services from medication management and wound care, to assistance with daily living and support with physical disabilities, long-term health conditions and sensory impairment.

You may need to consider nursing care when you notice any of the below:

  • Worsening chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
  • Difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent falls, injuries, hospitalisations or emergency room visits
  • Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  • Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  • Difficulty managing medications or complying with treatment plans
  • Need for specialised medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Our nursing team will assess the level of care needed and provide advice on the most appropriate type of nursing care. It is important when making the decision to go into a care home to talk with your loved ones and ensure that the person in need of professional care is involved in the decision-making process as much as possible.

Deeside Care Home takes the responsibility of ensuring the safety of residents as the number one priority. We achieve this by ensuring adequate staffing levels, our nursing staff is properly trained and qualified, protocols for infection control and medication management are implemented, and safety audits and assessments are regularly conducted. We also put the necessary security measures in place to prevent restricted access and to protect the safety of everyone.

At Deeside Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
