The King’s Coronation Celebrations
Like many across the UK, last weekend Deeside Care Home celebrated the King's Coronation with all of its residents and their families.
The team and residents all got involved in creating handmade decorations for the historic event and during the preparations, the residents took the time to reflect on the Royal Family, especially the late Queen.
Getting our residents involved in the planning of an event like this one, give them a sense of community and enhances the notion that Deeside is much more than a care home and has a family feeling.
Deeside welcomed friends, families and other local residents to join us so everyone could create new memories together. We watched the coronation on one of the big screens in the communal area. After the procession, our chefs spoiled us all with a buffet lunch that everyone tucked into and thoroughly enjoyed.
We also welcomed Bob Wilson into our home to entertain our residents and guests and he really did put on a memorable performance for everyone. Our activities coordinators also hosted a quiz and other games throughout the day.
Our King's Coronation party was a massive success and everyone had a fantastic day! We look forward to hosting more celebrations within our home as we see the benefits it provides for our residents in terms of improving emotional well-being and providing a sense of community.
