Residents Enjoy Trip to Local Library

We have been supporting visits to the local library in Aberdeen with residents getting to choose from a wide variety of reading materials.

A few of our residents are novel enthusiasts and so jumped at the chance to pick an array of books, from personal favourites to new pieces of literature. In a few weeks' time, we will then return the books and residents can pick some new books that spark their intrigue or extend their existing loans.

Visiting the local library provides residents with the opportunity to get out and see what the local community has to offer as well as socialise with other like-minded individuals outside of the home.

Reading is incredibly important for residents' overall mental health so we always support reading at the home. Reading has been shown to improve older people's memory, cognition, and attention span as well as reduce stress so it's an activity we will continue to encourage among residents.

A stop-off at the local Costa café for a frothy coffee and delicious piece of cake was a lovely finish to the afternoon.
